Quartermaster Fred SEATON hails from Chicago IL and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1986-1991 and then the U.S. Coast Guard from 1992-2015 advancing to Petty Officer 2nd class before earning his commission and promoting to Lieutenant Commander.  He retired after 28 years of service.

 

Fred is entering his first year as Quartermaster after being elected in May 2020.  His previous Post position include Sr Vice.  Fred is also currently serving on the Department Membership Committee and as a District 11 Inspector.

 

Fred joined the VFW in 2001 and Post 2995 in 2011.

 

Serving as Sr Vice from 2014-2020, Fred recruited over 100 members and as Buddy Poppy Chair from 2016-2020, lead a team to collect more than $48,000.00 for the Post Relief fund.  Dedicated to the Post, Fred secured a grant for $20,000.00 to improve the clubroom with new tables, barstools, refrigerator, oven, and renovated a meeting room with new flooring and paint..  He also added additional volunteer hours coordinating grounds cleaning, flag retirement ceremonies, assisting in the kitchen, and calling bingo.
